Myotis swarming and hibernation site

A pre-conference field trip will be led by Cal Butchkoski and Greg Turner, Pennsylvania Game Commission, and John Chenger, Bat Conservation and Management, to a local abandoned mine known as a swarming and hibernation site for Myotis spp. This site is an abandoned mine, with a perimeter gate and an entrance subsidence. Sonobat and harp traps will be demonstrated. Vehicle pooling will take place from the Scranton Hilton beginning at 4 p.m., 21 October, and return late evening. Questions and interested individuals, groups, and drivers should be directed to Cal Butchkoski at cbutchkosk@state.pa.us.
